You likely already know what an orthopedic surgeon or orthopedist is. Medical assistants are also useful in an orthopedic hospital where bone deformities and muscle and joint disorders may be treated. Their job in this case is similar to most of the duties they perform in other fields of medical assisting, but with some specificity to them.
